On March 30th, a post about the closure of the game appeared on the official PUBG Lite website. PUBG Studio did not disclose the reasons for this decision. Until the close, players can continue to play and spend in-game currency.

“We want to offer our sincere apologies and also express our deepest gratitude to everyone. We hope you had a good time with us, and please pay attention to our future projects, ”stated PUBG Studio.

Earlier in January 2020, PUBG Studio suspended the release of updates for PUBG Lite. The last update of the game took place on January 16, 2020. Then the Vikendi snow map appeared in PUBG Lite.

PUBG Lite project history

The PUBG Lite project lasted for about two years. The game was originally released for Thailand in January 2019. The game retains the original mechanics and gameplay of the Steam version of PUBG. But the system requirements for PUBG Lite were significantly lower. Therefore, the game worked perfectly on old or budget computers and laptops.

Then PUBG Lite opened to other countries in Asia. And after that, in May 2019, the game was launched in Latin America. The official release in Europe took place in October 2019.
