Opera GX adds network speed limit to browser for gamers
Opera Software presented Opera GX in June 2019. Browser was specially designed for gamers, and the three main features the initial version focused on were design, game news, and options to limit the browser’s CPU and RAM usage. The latest version of Opera GX, released on September 12, 2019, introduces a number of new features to the app, including network speed limiting.
The main new feature of the new version of Opera GX is the built-in network controller. It complements the RAM and CPU limiter that have been part of the browser since launch.
The feature is disabled by default, but can be activated by clicking on the GX control panel. Just switch the Network Limiter and select one of the available bandwidth limits. The default limit is 1 Mbps, and presets range from 64 Kbps to 25 Mbps. Options for setting custom limits are not available.
This limitation applies to everything browser in general, and this means that Internet services that you run outside of your browser benefit from these restrictions. The same can be said for the limitation of RAM and CPU.
Also, a calendar has been added to the new version. gaming releases.
